32 teams in total have qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022, with the hosts Qatar receiving automatic qualifying.
five-time winners Germany was the first European nation to confirm their place in the Qatar World Cup, while Brazil was the first South American team to qualify for the competition.
Brazil, which last won the FIFA World Cup in 2002, won the qualification round for the CONMEBOL, which also features nine other teams. The Selecao has so far competed in every World Cup.

After winning their respective groups in the first round of qualifiers, the following European teams will be joining Germany at the World Cup: Denmark, France, Belgium, Croatia, England, Spain, Serbia, Switzerland, and Wales.

However, Italy, a four-time champion, was unable to advance after falling to North Macedonia in the playoff semi-finals.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar will instead have six teams from Asia, five from Africa, and four each from North and South America. Oceania has no teams that succeeded.
